Registration Info

Register Now for the 2024-2025 Season!

Please note**: Registration for LTP and Tykes is still open and will remain open until all spots are filled. Registration for all other age groups has now closed.

Registration will remain open until all spots are filled; thereafter, athletes will be placed on a waitlist. Please read the following information carefully, prior to registering. Registration link is located at the bottom of this page.

Boundaries and Residency:

Please ensure you are registering in the correct zone. Calgary Northwest Basketball (CNWB) is Zone 1 on this map - ZONE FINDER. Zone Finder is not always reliable, so please zoom in on your area to confirm your zone and refer to our Boundaries page for more information.

*Please note that a NW residence does not necessarily mean you are within the boundaries for CNWB. Additionally, recent changes to boundaries may mean that players who have participated in CNWB in previous years may now belong to a different zone. Therefore, use the zone finder map to confirm before registering. Any registrations outside of our boundaries will be withdrawn and accompanied by a $50 administration fee.

***Please note - If your zone is full, you still must register for the waitlist in your own zone. Once registrations close, CMBA (not CNWB) will move waitlisted players into vacant spots in other zones. Do not register with CNWB unless you reside within our zone. A $50 admin fee will apply to all withdrawn registrations.

Program Capacities:

Register early to secure a spot in our programs. It is Calgary Northwest Basketball's goal to provide an opportunity for all our members; however, capacity is limited by gym availability. Once specific age categories have filled, registration will be closed.

Our LTP & Tyke programs fill especially quickly, so register asap to secure a spot.

Payment Method:

Please note that for the 2024-2025 season, all online registrations must be paid via credit card at the time of registration. If a participant cannot pay via credit card, they should contact the Registrar to make alternative arrangements. Payment must be made at the time of registration.

Registration will reopen mid-November 2024 (exact date TBD) for the Winter season that runs from January to March 2025. Each season must be paid for separately. The season structure regarding practices and games will remain the same as in previous years.

Refund Policy / Withdrawals:

All withdrawal and refund requests must be emailed to our Registrar. Please review the Refund/Withdrawal policy below before making inquiries.

LTP/Tykes:

  • 100% fees refunded (minus $20 administration fee) if requested before September 1st for LTP & Tykes.
  • No refund will be given after September 1st for LTP & Tyke programs.

U11/U13/U15/U18:

  • 100% fees refunded (minus $40 administration fee) if requested before August 25th for U11, U13, U15, and U18 programs.
  • 50% fees refunded (minus $40 administration fee) if requested between August 25th and before the start of evaluations for U11, U13, U15, and U18 programs.
  • No refund will be given after evaluations have started for U11, U13, U15, and U18 programs.
  • U18 Players in the Winter session (Jan-Mar) will not receive refunds after the season starts.
  • A $50 administration fee will be charged by CNWB for withdrawals due to registering in the wrong area (refer to the Zone Finder on the website).
  • Exceptions may be made for medical reasons (doctor's note required) or with approval from the Calgary NorthWest Basketball Executive.

Player Requests:

Please note that while we accept player requests, we cannot guarantee their fulfillment. Refunds will not be granted based on unmet player requests. Please refer to our "Refund Policy". Practice nights, times, and locations (Player Requests) cannot be confirmed until after evaluations have been completed and teams set (typically by the end of the third week of September). We understand that athletes may be involved in multiple activities and we will attempt to accommodate where possible. However, conflicts with other activities do not qualify for exceptions and no refunds will be issued for unmet player requests.

Uniforms:

Each player will receive a uniform to be worn only during games, not practices. Uniforms must be returned at the end of the season as a complete set (jersey & shorts), washed and in good condition. After April 1, 2024, players who have not returned their uniforms will be charged $175 to the credit card used to register. Tyke and LTP participants do not require uniform returns as they are given a t-shirt that they will keep.

Volunteers:

CNWB is a volunteer-run organization and all families are required to contribute in some capacity throughout the season. Failure to fulfill volunteer commitments will result in a charge of $200 per player, with a maximum charge of $400 per family, applied to your credit card at the end of the season.

CNWB offers a "No Volunteer" option, where you can choose to pay $200 per player, with a maximum charge of $400 per family, at the time of registration.

We encourage all families to volunteer as our programs depend on this support.

Proof of Age:

All players new to Calgary Minor Basketball, including first-year U11s, must provide a copy of their birth certificate or Alberta Health Care card at registration. CMBA will not register a player until this proof of age is received from CNWB. Registration will not be considered complete even if payment has been made without this documentation. Players new to CNWB who have played for another zone within CMBA should inform the registrar of the last zone played for to retrieve their CMBA ID#.
